Misanya, Age 7
Misanya lives with her family in a house with a grass thatched roof. Their dream is to be able to afford to send their daughter to school. She is a very good girl and an active pupil in her class, not to mention...adorable!
Christine, Age 10
Christine is an active and inquisitive girl who likes to play with dinosaurs and be outside, especially if there is a play ground! She asks questions ALL day. She loves writing her numbers and fetching water for her family.
Johnson, Age 6
Johnson is intelligent and known to be a jolly boy. His parents are laborers in the fields who have difficulty meeting their daily expenses, nevermind school fees. He is focused and believes if given the opportunity, he will make it in life and assist his parents.
Harriet
Harriet is very smart, enjoys attending school and does well academically. She loves playing net ball. She lives with both parents who are field laborers. She wants to become a nurse and needs help with her school fees to be able to do so!
Wilson, Age 9
Wilson is bright, talkative and attentive. He does very well in his academics. He likes being with his friends and imitating his teachers. He wants to be a driver when he grows up!
Barbra, Age 16
Babra is a smart girl who loves studying and does not want to ever miss school. She is lovable, active and loves to play net ball. Her dream is to become a teacher or a nurse!
Esther, Age 6
Esther lives with her family in poverty in the community where the school is being developed. Her desire is to become a midwife!
Sheira, Age 12
Sheira resides with her family in the school's village, a community in deep poverty. She has been a very good student and is an active pupil in class. She would love to have a sponsor to pay for her school fees.
Gift, Age 7 - Deaf
Gift was abandoned by his father who would not accept that he could produce a deaf child. His mother fled, too. He resided with his grand mum until FFYIA enrolled him into the National School for the Deaf in Kampala. He could use monetary assistance with his tuition there!
Nasulu, Age 6
Nasulu is a funny little man who loves football (soccer) and riding bikes. He is very competitive and loves to stay active. At times, he is shy, but warms up easily. He has an infectious smile and laugh.
Fauzia, Age 6
Fauzia is loving and caring; these are the two best words to describe her. She does well in school when she chooses to do so! She sometimes needs extra encouragement to know she is supported. She is highly intelligent and enjoys her lessons.
Patrick, Age 16
Patrick is a bright boy who loves to study and play. He lives with his aunt. He was chosen by the project so he could continue his studies after some tough years. He desires to continue his education into a trade.
Shanita, Age 8
Shanita loves school and is thriving. She is active, friendly and a great listener! She loves to be out in nature and has a beautiful smile. She wants to be "an amazing woman."
Michael, Age 6
Michael lives with his family locally. Although they are very poor and unable to afford his school fees. 🙁 He wants to go to school to become a teacher himself! Let's help him in this dream!
Rahim, Age 10
Rahim is a talented musician and won the best performing dance in his grade. Born in the slums of Bwaise in Kampala, his caregiver toils selling charcoal and can not afford his school fees.
Joshua, Age 11
Joshua's father died of HIV/AIDS when he was just 3 years old. He become an orphan when his mother abandoned him. When not in school he lives day to day by begging.
Nahiya, Age 14
Nahiya lives with her single Mum in the Bwaise slums. Her father disappeared long ago. Her mom sells plastic bottles to survive and hopes for a better future for her teen daughter! 🙂
Zaake, Age 14
Zaake lives with his single mum after his dad left 6 years ago. He is a bright boy with a promising future if he gets access to a good education. He aspires to become a responsible person.
Aaron, Age 8
Aaron's single mum sells charcoal which feeds her family, but does not afford school fees. Aaron is a very good student and a super active pupil in class!
Salima, Age 7
Salima was born to young parents in the Bwaise slums. Her father abandoned them in their dilapidated house. Her mum hopes a sponsor will pay for her boarding school so she can continue her education.
Shina, Age 12
Shina's life did not start well. Her parents fought and both chose to throw the child away and disappeared. A local counsel found her and became her foster parent. She loves to go to school!
Arafa, Age 6
Born in the slums, his story brings tears. His father became permanently disabled and his mom left the family as she saw no hope. He now lives with his Grand mum in her 70s and hopes he can always go to school!
Shafik, Age 8
Shafik lives with his grand mum in the slums of Kampala. She has no money or property and he is such a happy and talented student who desires to continue going to boarding school!
Ashim, Age 8
Ashim is a kind and intelligent boy. His dad has a brain problem and mum is shouldering all the responsibility for the family. He wants to stay in school, develop dreams and achieve them.
Shafik, Age 8
A good pupil and always in school, he desires to become a school teacher. Born in the slums and abandoned by both parents, he is being raised by his 75+ grandmum. Boarding school is the only way out for this little man!
Sharifa, Age 9
Sharifa is an orphan whom lost both mum and dad to HIV/AIDS when she was just one year old. She lives with her grand mum who does provide food, but can't afford school fees.
Abubakar, Age 7
Abubakar's mum died of cancer when he was just one. His father is unknown. His grand mum, as she ages, is struggling daily. Boarding school and the ability to pursue his education is the key to his future.
Asuman, Age 12
Abandoned by his father, Asuman and his single mum, live in the slums of Bwaise. She works hard to provide food for her family, but school fees are definitely out of reach. They would love some help for his tuition!
Habib, Age 11
As is common in the slums of Bwaise, men who are irresponsible abandon their families. His teen mum abandoned him shortly after. He lives with a great auntie and loves his boarding school!
Brian, Age 12
Brian is living in a dilapidated house in the the Bwaise slums with his Mum. He has been a very good student and active participant in his boarding school classes! He hopes to continue studying!
Jane, Age 7
Jane lives with her grand mum in the slums. She is so friendly and playful and absolutely loves to sing her heart out! She loves school and enjoys learning.
Simon, Age 13
Simon was plucked by FFYIA to attend boarding school after being found orphaned in the slums of Bwaise. He is an outstanding student and knows school is the way to a better future!
Hellen, Age 10

Alan, Age 9
Alan was orphaned as both his parents passed away. He lives with his grandmum in the slums. He is a shy, humble, very good boy who loves school!
